Everyone in Lapataganj is making preparations for the monsoon as Mukundi goes and gets his umbrella repaired; Biji gifts an umbrella to Surili. People are making predictions as to how this monsoon will turn out. Meanwhile, the paanwala is hoping that there would be heavy rain and as his wife who had fallen in the gutter is still missing, the gutters will flood with water and then she might come out with the overflowing water. On the other hand, Sutti Paanwala and Kachua go to the municipal office to check the preparations done by them to handle the issues faced by the common man, but to their dismay nothing much has been done. A local neta is betting on how much it will rain and if it does then how many people will die. Finally it starts raining while Mukundi is in office. The government declares it an off and everyone at post office decides to leave for home. But Mukundi is missing. Where is Mukundi has he fallen in a manhole left open by the municipal corporation??

Everyone is searching for Mukundi and they decide to visit the local neta when they see that the municipal commissioner is not of any help.On the other hand Biji goes and checks Mukundi’s office and bade babu tells him that Mukundi had left the office yesterday. The local neta who is still betting tells the commissioner that he has kept a target of rescuing 25 people otherwise he will loose the bet.

Finally, some people are rescued but instead of Mukundi, Sugandi comes first and then Mukundi. Mukundi confronts the neta and says that the sewer is a better and less polluted place as there is no one like the neta to pollute it. Mukundi also asks that it will always rain and people will always fall in the gutter but when will the neta and people like him realize that they themselves are stuck in the muck of corruption.

Kala Ka Pradarshan in Lapataganj

While Mama has been spending days going around influencing people about the importance of beauty and art, Kachua, who is a wiser person among the rest of them, tries to make the people of Lapataganj see that ‘Beauty is only skin deep’. On the other hand, Biji has got gifts for everybody from town. He gets a plastic container for Sutti, a face pack for Indu, a plastic broom for Mausi, a beautiful dupatta for Surili and a new shirt piece for Mama. Materialistic Mama gets a new shirt stitched from Eliza and shows it to everyone, while Amma argues about how mud and all the earthen things like pots made by Kachua have neither art nor beauty in them. On the other hand, Sutti who stores the milk in the container realises that it cannot be consumed any more. Mausi also feels that the broom is not fine and starts using the old one. Indu starts getting rashes from the face pack and Mama’s shirt fades out. As the conflict between the real and artificial beauty comes to face, Mama argues with Kachua about beauty and Kachua ends up challenging Mama to give up the use of anything that comes from earth/mud for two days.

Kala Ka Pradarshan in Lapataganj

Mama accepts the challenge but later on finds it difficult when he realises that everything is mainly artificial. Biji offers samosas to him and he eats them, later he asks Sutti to give some water and then he is told that he cannot drink it because it is stored in earthen pots. Mama gets a mineral water bottle and drinks from it, as Mausi also tells him that he will not be given anything to eat because everything grows on earth. After some time he goes to the doctor complaining about stomach ache and eats medicines instead of food. On the next morning people see Mama lying in the chowk., they try to wake him up but he doesn’t moves. Everyone gets worried and thinks that he is dead and everyone starts preparing for his funeral. At the same time Mama wakes up and realizes that everything was just a dream. He confesses his mistake and tells everyone that his dream has opened his eyes, and now he realizes that judging things on the face value beyond looks is not the only thing to do.

Inspired by Mukundi’s love story, Biji goes all out to woo Surili in Lapatganj this week

With monsoon hitting this season, it’s the time of romance...the time of the year to fall in love...to cherish and remember the special moments...to confess unbound love for each other. And this is what exactly is happening in Lapataganj!

Biji, madly in love with Surili wants her to be in his life forever, but Mausiji is the villain in his love story. Desperate to impress Mausi, Biji discusses his situation with Mukundi who starts to give him advice by giving his own example where he goes back into the time when he saw Indumati for the first time and on first sight fell in love with her. In his flash-back he describes what he felt then when he saw her for the first time and how when she smiled and his heart had missed a beat singing the popular song Aaj Din Chadya Tere Rang Varga from Love Aaj Kal. He talks about his efforts to impress Indumati and her family, and how eventually he manages to win her by singing the evergreen song of Padosan – Meri Pyaari Bindu. He explains Biji on love happened in KAL ka time and though times have changed true love can always overcome all hurdles.

Biji takes cues from Mukundi and tries to woo Surili and her family in Aaj Ka time with entertaining numbers like Aasaman se Aaya Farshita of Shammi Kapoor and Surili Akhiyon wale from Veer. He tries everything from buying gifts to singing songs...But does Biji’s style of expressing his love for Surili impress Surili’s family?

Rohitash Gaur aka Mukundi said, “Had a great time singing and dancing to woo a girl after a long time, brought back the memories of the time when in college we tried our best to impress the prettiest girl of our class. I am sure the viewers will be transported back in time when they were attempting to woo the love of their life.”

Abbas Khan aka Biji Pandey with a mischievous grin said, “Like in the episode, in reality also I take Rohitash Bhai as my love guru, he might not look like one but he is the best when it comes to giving advice.” he added with a wink.

Chup Chup Ke Milna in Lapataganj Thursday, July 29th, 10pm only on SAB

Mama, Mausi and Eliza talk about Mukundi's attitude towards Indu. They all express their anger by not talking to Mukundi. Mukundi reaches office and sees bade Babu crying because his brother's wife had eloped with their cook as his brother was not able to give her time. This makes Mukundi realise his mistake and he goes back and apologizes to Indu for his behaviour. He makes a plan to rekindle his love for Indumati by taking her for a movie but she is not suppose to tell anyone about it as they will meet each other in the same manner as they use before they got married. Indu agrees to the plan and they both meet at the theatre. Meanwhile, Mama, Mausi and Eliza who are unaware of their plan follow Mukundi and catches him watching a film with someone.

‘British Raj’ in Lapataganj Sunday, August 15th, 10pm only on SAB

Lapataganj wakes up for an unexpected morning where they find water in the tap and electricity supply. They also hear a song of Mr. Manoj Kumar in Gandhi Vidhyalaya and realize that all this is happening because it is 15th August i.e. the Independence Day. Everyone is happy and they all start their preparations to celebrate the day and do the flag hoisting. Meanwhile they see two local politicians fighting over, as to who will get to hoist the flag. They both then decide to call Zanda Mantra, the person who has been appointed for flag hoisting. The Politician comes, gives a boring speech and distributes sweets to school kids.

Later Biji goes and shouts outside Mausi’s house, and as usual she comes and yells at him. To this Biji tells Mausi that since it is Independence Day he has all the freedom to do whatever he wants to. Hearing Biji’s statement Kachua and Sughandi explains him the true meaning of Independence Day which has been earned by our freedom fighters by putting all their efforts. But Biji tells them that “he is sure that it wouldn’t have been that difficult as they are telling him” and makes fun of the explanation given by Kachua and Sughandi. They both challenge Biji to survive British rule for one day in Lapataganj. Biji accepts the challenge but is unaware how bad the situation can be.
