Recently, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh made derisive comments against Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on the Maoist issue. Opining that Chidambaram was 'extremely rigid' and 'arrogant', the AICC General Secretary said, "I strongly believe in the collective responsibility of the Cabinet, and as the Home Minister, it is his responsibility to take a holistic view of the issue and put it up to the Cabinet rather than opt for a narrow sectarian view. The Home Minister is also a member of the core group."

Highlighting this issue further, Swati Chaturvedi, the host of Zee News popular celebrity chat show Kahiye Janab engaged Congress Party General Secretary Digvijay Singh in an exclusive interview.

On being asked about the controversies Shashi Tharoor and Jairam Ramesh, and its fallout in the UPA, Divijay Singh said, “Jairam is a very intelligent person. But no person related to the politics of one country should go to the other and say something that aggravates the situation more, when it is related to the relations between two countries.”

Later when asked by Swati, “Would you do politics the same way as Shard Pawar?”

Digvijay Singh said, “The mind behind IPL is Subhash Chandra. If we had the ICL, then the chances of having a scam in the IPL would have been very rare. I even suggested this to Sharad that the ICL should happen. I will congratulate Lalit Modi as well and give him the credit for being a successful business model.”
