So, tune in to "Chicks on Flicks" as Neha and Ira will guide you on whether to "Catch it" or "Trash it" this Friday 23rd January at 7.30 pm only on PIX. Slumdog Millionaire: A British drama film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Simon Beaufoy. It is based on the novel Q and A by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup. Loveleen Tandan, who began as the film's casting director, was later appointed by Boyle as the co-director. Slumdog Millionaire follows the story of a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show and exceeds people's expectations, arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials. The movie has already bagged several awards in Film Festivals all over including the Golden Globe awards. Changeling: An American period thriller directed by Clint Eastwood and written by J. Michael Straczynski. The film begins in 1928 Los Angeles and tells the true story of a woman who recognizes that the boy returned after her son's disappearance is an impostor. After confronting the city authorities, she is vilified as an unfit mother and branded delusional. The events were related to the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders, a kidnapping and murder case that was uncovered in 1928. Changeling explores themes such as disempowerment of women and corruption in political hierarchies. I am that there: A Biographical film directed by Todd Haynes and is inspired by the life of iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. It depicts six distinct stages of Dylan's life and public persona portrayed by an ensemble cast of actors: Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Cate Blanchett. All play characters based on Dylan but with different names. The film tells its story using non-traditional techniques, similar to the poetic narrative style of Dylan's songwriting. It takes its name from the 1967 Dylan outtake "I'm Not There", a song never officially released until its appearance on the film's official soundtrack album. Tropic Thunder (DVD): An American action comedy film directed and produced by Ben Stiller and written by Stiller, Justin Theroux, and Etan Cohen. The film stars Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. as a group of prima donna actors making a Vietnam War film when their fed-up writer and director decides to drop them in the middle of the Vietnamese jungle, forcing them to portray their roles without the comforts of a film set.
