UTVi, the business news channel presents ‘The Big Debate’ in association with CII Yi. This exclusive high-powered event took place at NCPA on June 29th 2009, Monday at 5.00pm. It was attended by the likes of:

*Yudhishtir Khatau – MD, Varun Shipping & President, Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA)
*Venugopal Dhoot – CMD, Videocon
*Ashank Desai – Non Executive Chairman, Mastek
*Ashwini Kakkar, MD, Mercury Travels

The event saw a high-intensity debate among the Managers of today and Managers of tomorrow. This event saw about 250 students from leading B-Schools, (K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, JBIMS –The Wilson College, NMIMS, HR College and a few more) interact with leading business big-wigs. The big topic of ‘The Big Debate’ was Target 10% and what it means for India. Ronnie Screwvala, Chief Executive, UTV Software moderated the debate.

UTVi’s budget special programming is inclusive and has been steered by a huge interactivity quotient. It has been divided on three distinct pillars of Corporate India, Consumer and the Youth and the treatment has been differently tuned to ensure that each segment gets to identify and benefit. More than the budget announcement, it is the implication and the end impact that relates to each viewer. The Big Debate is a step towards understanding the youth today who will lead the country tomorrow.

Talking about the budget specials – Target 10%, Mr. Vivek Malhotra, VP Marketing, UTVi said, “Target 10% is an aspirational branding for the Union Budget. It is our appeal to go that extra inch and to convert our efforts into an impressive growth for all – growth at the time when the world is looking at India. More than the budget announcement, it is the implications and the end impact that relates to our viewer.”
