Big FM completes phase II with Shimla station

MUMBAI: Big FM has completed phase II with the launch of its 45th FM radio station in Shimla.The Reliance ADAG company has also become the first private radio operator in Himachal Pradesh.Big FM, in fact, has set up 44 stations over the last 18 months, including one in Singapore.

The Shimla station that hit the airwaves today has its frequency set at 91.9 FM. Initially, the Shimla station will play content for 17 hours a day and will later convert to a 24-hour station post audience evaluation, the company said in a release.

Big FM Shimla begins broadcasting at 6 am with a one-hour programme on devotional music. The content also includes breakfast show Big Chai, mid-morning show Aap ki Khatir, afternoon show Big Ger, evening show Citi Baje Ke and 9 o’clock show Baje ki Setting.

“The station will also play regional content including Pahadi and Punjabi songs in addition to Bollywood numbers,” said Big FM business head North & West Himanshu Shekhar.
