Vijay TV’s hunt for the best voice of Tamilnadu, the reality show that began in June 2009 is reaching its last leg. The FINALS of Airtel Super Singer Junior 2 goes LIVE!!!!
The chosen five finalists, Alka (SSJ 02), Nithyashree (SSJ 11), Shravan (SSJ 15) Roshan (SSJ 19) and Srikanth (SSJ 20) battling to win the Airtel Super Singer Junior 2 title would be performing in front of a 10,000 audiences. Ardent fans of Super Singer Junior show, could sit before their Television sets and can watch their favorite perform LIVE.
Airtel Super Singer Junior show has so far showcased leading singers like Unni Menon, Unni Krishnan, Sadhana Sargam, Manicka Vinayagam, Sadhana Sargam, Harish Ragavendran, Pop Shalini, Madhu Balakrishnan, Suchitra, Naresh Iyer, Vijay Prakash, Tippu, Kuppuswamy, Anitha Kuppuswamy, Shwetha Mohan, Madhimutha, Charulatha Mani, Suvi Suresh; Carnatic vocalists like Padmavibhushan Balamurali Krishna, Nithyashree Mahadevan, Sowmya, Veeramani Raju; Legendary music composers and singers like M.S.Viswanathan, P.B.Srinivas, L.R.Easwari, P.Suseela, Jency and many others were all a part of this grand musical show.

The five contestants would compete in a three hour mega LIVE show which is to take place on June 17th, 2010 at YMCA Grounds, Royapettah, Chennai. The show would be graced by legendary music composers and popular musicians. The winner of Airtel Super Singer Junior 2 is entitled to win a beautiful villa worth Rs.25 lakhs.
The stage is all set for these budding performers to redefine their dreams. Once again it is the viewers of Tamilnadu who would be choosing the most deserving singer of SSJR through SMS and online voting. Show Judges Singers Mano, Chithra and Malgudi Shubha also would be seen to encourage and judge the talented kids.
Airtel Super SInger Junior 2 Voting Mechanism : Viewers can SMS SSJ XX (XX – contestant no) to 57827 and cast their vote for the deserving and talented singer.
Apart from this, viewers can also login to http://www.vijay.indya.com/ and cast their vote. Viewers can continue to vote till the LIVE on June 17, 2010.

i loved the grand final. alka deserved it- she rocks. her singara velane song was just outstanding. i liked everything except for the last part- there was huge crowd standing on the stage- the contestants were not even seen.

alka was the best from the begining… though tamil was not her mother tongue she had such a knowledge sense about the language that even most of tamil ppl dont have..
i was the right decision and justice that Alka won the title…

IF this competition is for “TAMILAGATHIN chella kuralukaana thaedal…” then why they allow other state children to participate in the program… They will be allowed to participate till finals and if they won the game then we will argue that they are other state people…
Competition should be between talents not between states….

Alka sings Tamil songs as well as any Tamilian would. I am sure the Malayalam channels also would take in Tamils if we show such ability. Leave alone Tamizhagathin chella kural, the all time favourite of Tamil film music- P.Susheela is not Tamil by birth. Imagine how much we would have lost, had we shunned Susheela or Yesudas on regional basis. When singers and music directors are crossing not only regional but even international borders and winning acclaim, such comments show how the ideas of many people is still backward!
Talent is to be appreciated irrespective of a person’s place of birth or mother tongue.
Alka defenitely deserves the title.
She was undisputably the best singer among the contestants.Her performances always left me amazed that such a young girl can deliver such perfect and amazing performances!! She is as good as a grown up, experienced playback singer.
Please broaden ur visions.

I completely agree with jayashree.I definitely believe there is a manipulation of votes.They wanted Alka to win and they announced the same. the sms is just to make money but not to know the opinion of ppl in true sense. PLZ BOYCOTT these shows and never vote for them . I personally cast more than 50 votes to srikanth.

Hearty congrats to the channel for achieving your target of selecting alka as the winner! What a lifetime achievement!!!! Once more yr channel has proved that you will give laurels to substandard contestants. As public, we are sure that the max.no.of votes was not for alka since yr channel itself announced srikanth as the most popular voted contestant, which means he got the max. no.of votes. No blind person will announce alka as the winner since how horriblly she sung in her second round?
We all wanted shravan to win since he was the most deserving candidate (a lac times better than alka). The only mistake shravan did was he cud have selected a much challenging song which would definitely have made him the winner inspite of all manipulations. Mr.mano and the great chitra are the happiest to usher the most arrogant alka to the music industry. God save them!!! they will soon understand their mistakes.
Anyhow i should appreciate the channel for considering the super singers like priyanka and srinisha get a prize. They deserve much more. my hearty congrats to our dear nithyashri and shrikanth and also roshan.

Again it was started with the ‘Title Thamillahathin Chella Kural Thedal,’ not keralathin malayala kural thedal.
There are so many contests and competitions are going on in malayala language in kerala, so they can participate in them. Can a Tamil person from Tamilnadu partcipate in the competition in kerala? We doubt!
