National Geographic Channel presents ‘Women’s Hour’ Saturdays @ 12 noon

New Delhi, February 2010. A doting mother, a loving wife, a determined professional, a supportive friend, an accomplished entrepreneur… The woman of today runs a household and a business venture with equal élan. She is confident and self-dependant; and yet inside every strong woman resides a sensitive girl who would love to be taken care of and pampered. To celebrate this spirit of womanhood, National Geographic Channel has launched a dedicated woman’s hour, titled ‘Women’s Hour that airs every Saturday @ 12 noon.

The exclusive time-band features new and exciting lifestyle and leisure based shows covering topics like travel, fashion and wellness. ‘World’s 20 Best’ features the top twenty exotic destinations in various categories like hotels, islands, family destinations, adventure, romantic getaways and cities. The series has been compiled by a team of travel journalists, who through their insight and personal experience have identified the pinnacle of contemporary travel and leisure destinations.

‘Fashion Memoir’ goes behind the scenes to find out the stories of the fashion industry’s major players. From Stella McCartney to John Galliano, Oscar de la Renta to Issey Miyake, the series showcases the inspirations, backgrounds and achievements of all the big names in fashion.

Designed to fit every lifestyle, all fitness levels, ‘Yoga for Life’ is a refreshing new show that looks at a particular body ailment or a disease in each episode and gives a solution – the yoga way.

“Women’s Hour aims to provide programming that is entertaining as well as intellectually stimulating for our female viewers. The featured shows including, ‘World’s 20 Best’ and ‘Fashion Memoirs’ reflect the world that a modern woman inhabits. National Geographic Channel has tied up with ELLE magazine – India’s leading fashion magazine, to promote the series through an exciting contest. To participate, just watch Woman’s Hour Saturdays @ 12 noon and answer simple questions asked during the show via SMS. Through the contest, ELLE magazine will give 3 lucky women a makeover. That’s not all! These women will also be part of a photo shoot and be featured in ELLE magazine. People participating in the contest will also win loads of free ELLE magazines.
