UTV World Movies’ Cinemania nite in Mumbai @ Cafe Goa- 20th Jan
UTV World Movies Presents Cinemania Nites on the 20th of January 8.30 p.m. onwards at Café Goa, Bandra, an evening where you can enjoy the best of world culture through some captivating International music and thought provoking cinema.
The movie to be screened is the Golden Globe nominated Nikita about a teenage delinquent.
Post the screening, the band Dischordian will belt out some International hits. They describe themselves as ‘an attempt to move away from the wall of sound and aggression and testosterone that makes up most rock music’. The band claims to strip the music down to its basics, one guitar and one voice, just rhythms and melodies and words. Dischordian was not planned in any way, or born of any kind of conscious decision, it just took shape gradually. The team comprises Garreth on the guitar, vocals, harmonica, Aggie with the Trumpet, percussion and Howard supporting with guitar, backing vocals and percussion.
Also, Gillian Grassie, an award-winning harp player from Philadelphia, USA will open the grand act with her amazing skills.

Synopsis of the movie: Directed by luc Besson, Nikita is a story about a teenage delinquent and heroin addict who participates in robbing the pharmacy of the parents of a fellow junkie. The robbery goes awry, degenerating to a gunfight with local police during which her cohorts are killed. Suffering severe withdrawal symptoms, she shoots a policeman. Nikita is arrested, tried, convicted of murder, and imprisoned for life, with parole considered after thirty years.
