UTV ACTION takes action to the masses
Organizes rock climbing challenges at hot-spots across the country
28th January, 2010: UTV Action, India’s very first action channel, after its launch, decided to take the action to the masses. The action channel organized a series of rock climbing challenges at various hot-spots across the country like Phoenix Mill in Mumbai, East Delhi Mall in Delhi and Forum Value Mall in Bangalore.
Patrons at these malls were given a chance to get a first hand experience of some real action by being part of this challenge where they had to climb a rock climbing wall that was installed by the channel. Participants who could climb the wall in the allotted time were declared winners and were awarded a pair of boxing gloves. The participants were visibly excited to prove their mettle in front of the cheering crowds. Adequate safety measures adopted from knee pads, helmets to harnesses. There was an ambulance on standby just in case. After all the channel’s tag line is “Be Prepared”.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Sameer Ganapathy, Channel Head – UTV Action, said, “We at UTV Action want the viewers to experience a complete package of thrill and excitement by not only exposing them to the best of action movies on television but also by giving them a hands on experience through our on-ground activities. Through these initiatives the channel has taken a step forward by providing its audiences a holistic experience.”
The action pact rock climbing activity in the malls was spread across the month of January which received phenomenal response with whopping numbers with close to 5000 people scaling the UTV Action Wall across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
