Delhi, December 3:- Continuously reinventing and keeping pace with changing viewer needs, STAR Plus, India’s leading GEC announces ‘Pratigya’ – a story of an ordinary girl’s extraordinary resolve to reclaim her respect. With ‘Pratigya’, STAR Plus takes another leap in creating content that is inspiring, progressive and relevant.
The show is a reflection of the society we live in, where women often grapple with situations and are forced to tolerate disrespect and ill treatment against their will. The situations may vary; the perpetrators of crimes against women may be individuals from within the family or strangers, but unfortunately, women are often in a disadvantaged situation in the country. Against this backdrop, STAR Plus brings in a truly inspiring and moving story of an ordinary girl who finds the inner strength to deal with the circumstances in her life to transform and shape her reality.
Announcing the launch, Mr Sanjay Gupta – COO, STAR India Pvt Ltd, said, “With Pratigya, we aim to bring alive an icon whose journey is one that women can relate to, identify with and be inspired by. Breaking stereotypes, we have created a protagonist who is not a victim but a reformer”.
The lead role of ‘Pratigya’ will be played by Pooja Gaur. Talking about Pratigya, Pooja said, “Every woman has been through a situation wherein she has felt helpless or has made a choice against her wishes under family or societal pressures. Pratigya’s story is one of a young girl who finds the courage to take her own decision which not only transforms her life but also changes how society looks at her.”
In her support is Bollywood’s young woman icon Kangana Ranaut who has closely dealt with a similar incident in the family. She stressed on the need to fight back against disrespect towards women and joined Pooja Gaur in her pledge to do away with mediocrity and stand for her respect and dignity.
Produced by Manmohan Shetty’s Walkwater Media Limited and Pearl Grey’s Spell Bound Production, ‘Pratigya’ has a talented cast like Arhaan Behl, Shahab Khan, Monika Singh, Ankit Gera who will leave the viewers asking for more with their enticing performances.
Taking the concept of the show further, Star Plus also announced the ‘Meri Pratigya’ campaign in association with an NGO which will reach out to women across the country and ask them to share their experiences. Whether women have suffered from eve teasing, harassment or general disrespect, this will be a platform for them to talk about the experience and how they emerged stronger from it. The campaign will spread its footprint in various cities with street plays and human chains. The ‘Meri Pratigya’ campaign strives to not only educate the masses on the need for change but also asks them to stand up and fight back to claim the respect due to them.

I never miss this serial . Actully the whole star cast is life of this serial. Thakur Sajjan Singh, Krishna, Mother of Krishna(typicla saas material), Shakti(lust looks in his eyes) his dari sehmi wife (Kesar), Komal (typical illiterate girl, who dont know how to talk to anybody) and at Partiya side all are very sophisticated family memebrs. All seems so real. Love as father for Krishan we can see in Sajjan Singhs eyes. Very well written and very well acted serial. Congratulations to Pratiya team (on screen and off screen). Keep it up.
