Anil Agarwal on ‘All for This One Moment’ – Season 2
After a successful first edition, Lufthansa and CNBC-TV18 will broadcast the second season of ‘All for this one moment’ this September. This special series showcases the lives and achievements of business leaders, offering a rare glimpse into the secret of their success. The program also captures their emotional encounters with young, aspiring entrepreneurs. Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta Group will share his ideals, principals, plans and memories in his journey to the pinnacle.
Speaking on the show Anil Agarwal recounts his humble beginnings and his struggle when he moved to Mumbai. “1976 to 1986 was a bad time as businesses failed, but after 1986 I didn’t look back.” The man who is driven around in a Bentley admits that he would not like to be in the Forbes list and rather be a common man. Revealing that he is a Hindi movie buff he confesses that he tries to catch the first day first show. Speaking about BALCO, he says, “I was always passionate about getting into the aluminium business. BALCO had the production capacity of 1 lac tonnes but now we are going to produce 25 lac tonnes.”
On the secret of his persuasion he said that once you create trust with people, they will come back to you if you require anything. On raising funds for further expansion he said, “Earlier people reluctant about putting money in India but now they’re comfortable to put money in an FTSE listed company.” Referring to the Indian education sector he says that he is looking at India through the American model which is research oriented. He further says that each of India’s universities has been built by an individual and that is why he is building Vedanta University.
Asit Doshi, a young and enterprising entrepreneur from Ahmedabad got a chance to not only interact with Mr. Agarwal on the show but also to get his opinion on the questions that he had regarding business.
