Radio Mirchi presents Airtel’s Mirchi premier league
Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM Chennai in association with Airtel presents the Airtel Mirchi Premier League. A mega cricket tournament with a difference, this is one of the larges ever ten-over cricket tournament Chennai has seen till date.
The Airtel Mirchi Premier League was inaugurated by Actor Prasanna, a leading kollywood actor along with Mr. M. Ramanandha, Head Operation, Airtel and Mr. Srinath of Amrutanjan. The tournament will run for a period of two months and a total of 96 teams are participating with over 100 matches to be played. The grand finale scheduled to be held on Sept.13, 2009 will see the two best teams of the tournament competing for prize money of Rupees One Lakh. The response from the teams was phenomenal with over 400 teams calling for registering in a span of just four hours. The participants comprise of a mix of players from corporate, colleges and gully cricket teams.
On the occasion of the event, Sandeep Sud, VP & Cluster Head – TN, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM said, “Chennai has always been known for its love for cricket and cinema. We have always endeavoured to provide great listenership experience to the listeners and by organizing the Airtel Mirchi Premier League; we hope to provide a platform to the people of Chennai to showcase their cricketing skills.”
