Mumbai, July 24th, 2009: This weekend, NDTV Lumière gives way to the battle between a proud city girl and stubborn country farmer in ‘A Girl from Paris’. Written and directed by debutant Christian Carion, The Girl from Paris won the Guild Film Award – Gold, Foreign Film category at the 2003 Guild of German Art House Cinemas. Seating and entry is free at ‘Zenzi Lumière’.
Thirty-year-old Sandrine Dumez is unhappy and frustrated with her life. On a whim, she decides to buy a farm on the outskirts of Paris from cantankerous farmer Adrien, but Adrien is reluctant to leave. He strikes a deal to stay on the farm for the next 18 months, in the hope Sandrine will fail at her new endeavour. A battle of the wills ensues between proud city girl and stubborn country farmer, but slowly the two come to realise they need each other.
