Asia’s top sports content provider, ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) today announced the appointment of Jon Lefebvre as its new Vice President, Sales Operations and Strategy. He will be based in Singapore and will report directly to Charles Less, Senior Vice President, Advertising and Multimedia Sales.

In this role, Lefebvre is responsible for ESS’s advertising sales and sponsorship strategies across seven sales regions covering South-east Asia, Japan and Hong Kong. He will work closely with Charles Less to oversee sales operations, improve operational efficiencies, manage budget processes and offer strategic support to achieve Advertising Sales and Digital Media targets.

Prior to his move to Singapore, Lefebvre was based in Australia where he ran J&M international, a boutique sponsorship consulting firm representing corporations to source, develop and negotiate sports and arts sponsorship. During his nine-year tenure, Lefebvre successfully negotiated and developed Lucent Technologies Naming rights sponsorship of the Tour de Las Americas 2000-2001 (South American PGA Tour), consulted for PIL / CENCONS for the rights for the 2008 Beijing Olympics Wukesong Basketball Stadium and for the Shanghai International Circuit Co as commercial rights holders of the Sinopec Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix.

He also consulted DHL for its Asia Pacific sponsorship strategy and to Spectrum Worldwide, promoters of the JPMorgan Corp Challenge Singapore & Sydney, OCBC Cycle Singapore, Anlene Orchard Mile & Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon.

Lefebvre has close to 20 years’ experience in media sales and marketing in Asia Pacific, having started his career with Network Ten in Sydney before moving on to the International Management Group. He later moved to Hong Kong as News Corp’s head of Sales for Australia, Hong Kong, China & Japan then on to Asian PGA Tour as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing.
