Election fever on UTVi
As the election dates are nearing, UTVi presents a list of programmes for the week which would set every viewer thinking. These programmes –Eye on the Week, Talk Back, City Watch and Business Backpacking will be aired over the weekend (28th & 29th March, 2009).
This week on Eye on the Week (Saturday, 28th March at 9:30 PM & Sunday, 29th March at 8 AM) the action begins with the G-20 reconvening. What exactly are they up against and what do they plan to deliver in this economic slowdown will be the prime focus of discussion. Catch a special on how bad the layoff scene is, from the mid to senior management who face serious uncertainties about their future, across the globe.
On Talk Back (Saturday, 28th March at 4PM & Sunday, 29th March at 10:30PM) catch the millionaire steel and power magnet and MP, Naveen Jindal along with UTVi’s anchor Hindol Sengupta whistlestop through the villages of Kurukshetra, Haryana on his private chopper. Catch him campaign for a second term in parliament urging villagers to vote for youthful leadership and a hate free campaign. Watch him talk about why he joined politics, whether the power of money helps in politics, his views about the young MP brigade and what changes he wants to make in Indian politics.
Starting this week On City Watch (Monday, 23rd March – Saturday, 28th March at 12 Noon) UTVi brings you a special series that covers one city every week for 6 weeks, and talks about the key issues in these elections. Under the spotlight this week is the tech city of Bangalore where issues ranging from the safety of women to the continuing infrastructural bottleneck will be discussed. Look forward to prominent citizens of Bangalore as they stand up for their city.
Watch Business Backpacking (Saturday, 28th March at 10:30 PM) delve into the heart of one of the oldest markets in the country, Ballimaran in Old Delhi. Get to know about the oldest watch stores in the country and the changing waves in the business of keeping time. Also watch the show travel to a toy store which showcases some of the oldest toys in India and the battle they faced when Chinese toys were pulled off the market after the toxic toy controversy. UTVi meets a shoemaker in the heart of Ballimaran talk about his latest stocks and how the business has witnessed a change.
