The Volkswagen Group, once again, walked away with some of the most prestigious awards at the leading Indian automotive show, NDTV Profit Car India & Bike India Awards 2009, at a glittering award function held in Mumbai on Friday evening.
The Audi A4 received the honour for the Premium Car of the Year, the Skoda Fabia won the Active Small Car of the Year and the Volkswagen Jetta bagged the Executive Car of the Year.
Expressing joy on the success of the Volkswagen Group which was top in three of the six most important categories of the award ceremony, Mr. Joerg Mueller, President and Managing Director Volkswagen Group India said, “We are privileged and proud to be the winner of these three prestigious awards at ‘NDTV Profit Car India & Bike India Award” show. The awards are the testimony to the fact that Volkswagen Group is a trusted player in India. We aim to achieve many such testimonials in the New Year.”
Mr. Joerg Muller also handed over the award for the Brand Ambassador of the Year to ex Miss World and a leading Indian actress Ms. Priyanka Chopra.
Since its inception in 2006, the NDTV Profit Car India & Bike India Awards have been considered one of the most credible of all Auto industry awards. NDTV Car & Bike Awards are organised by NDTV Profit and Next Gen Publishing, the publishers of Car India and Bike India Magazine.
