RADIO MISTY SIKKIM 95 FM GOES ON AIR AT SIKKIM
Radio Misty Sikkim 95 FM from the PCM group has launched its Sikkim station at Gangtok. With this launch the group will have two FM stations, Siliguri being the first one before this. Radio Misty Sikkim 95 fm is the First 24X7 FM station of Sikkim. This will be the station which is heard in whole state. Radio Misty Sikkim will play a blend of popular Hindi music, English music along with local songs, pops, fusion, remixes, retro music and International music. The focus will be to promote local music.
Radio Misty is partner to BBC and Radio Netherlands worldwide. So listeners will have unique oppurnity to listen exclusive International music and programmes. Thanks to this partnership Radio Misty Sikkim listeners’ in the region can now tune in to the BBC’s infotainment updates and tailor-made chat shows. Radio Misty Sikkim programmes were decided after intensive research conducted over months before the launch. A state of art studio is ready at development area in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.
With its tag line Gungunate Raho and Motto Local People-Local Voice-Local station-Local Choice Radio Misty Sikkim 95 fm will be station for local people. It will promote local music, heritage, culture and other talents. Radio Misty, which is aired in the 94.3 MHz in Siliguri, has been allotted change in frequency in Sikkim. Radio Misty, due to its location, can be very well heard in Sikkim from Siliguri. With the same frequency in both cities, airwaves from both stations will be overlapping, making it difficult to catch the frequency of the station in Gangtok. So Misty applied for change in frequency and it is granted. Sikkim listeners will be now in a unique position – they will be able to tune in to two different Misty channels, one aired from Siliguri and the other from Gangtok.
Says, Radio Misty Sikkim 95 FM chief executive officer Nishant Mittal, Radio Misty Sikkim is the First FM station in Sikkim which will be 24 hours live. Radio Misty has a vast library of Hindi music, local and International music.
